WM CRAFTWORKS

WM Craftworks is the creative collaboration of Nobu Wellington (the "W") and Yuko Makuuchi (the "M"). Each piece is designed and handmade from their studio in Los Angeles, California, with a deep appreciation for materials, process, and beautiful imperfections. Celebrating their shared Japanese heritage, Nobu and Yuko frequently incorporate elements of traditional Japanese design and craftsmanship into their work — but always strive for timelessness. Nobu primarily focuses on woodworking, practicing techniques of wood joinery and turning on the lathe. Yuko works with clay, leather, and wood, and is always learning more about the science and magic of glazes. Creating together is a process filled with surprises, bringing Nobu and Yuko closer together as they perfect their craft. They share their home with a pup named Puna (Coral in Hawaiian).
